Always say how much you want to spend per night. Hotels with air-conditioning, private toilet/showr, hot water, etc. can range from around 650 baht to 4000 baht per night. Smaller towns even cheaper per night.

If you are really, really young, just out of high school (usually spending mommy and daddy's money) go to the Khao San Road (KSR)area with all the other really, really young travellers.

If you are slightly more adult or mature I would recommend that you stay in the Siam or Sukhumvit Road area where you can take advantage of the Skytrain (overhead rapid transit train) which can bring you to many popular areas of Bangkok, including the bus station and connection to the subway.

There is an airport sponsored bus (100 baht) that has a route that takes you to the KSR area and down Sukhumvit Road. Google up the Honey Hotel on Sukhumvit or the Fortuna Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 5. They will be air conditioned and have private toilets. The Honey Hotel is further away from the bar type night life and the Fortuna closer. Both hotels are close to a Skytrain stop.

Whatis your price range?

Hi Mingyi,

I stayed in Bangkok for a week with three friends at the end of high school - all with a very small budget, and stayed at the Asia Hotel - it was not too expensive - rooms were fairly big but the big plus is it location - it has its own skytrain station connected to the hotel and is in walking distance to all the good places to shop and is not to far from other attractions. I would really recommend it especially for its location.
