Things do in Kenya:
1) Safari at Masai Mara
2) A visit to Baringo to see flamingos, hippos and the hot springs
3) The Ark - nestled in the heard of the forests where animals come to you as opposed to you going to look for them.
4) The beaches at Mombasa. Definitely get on one of those glass-bottom boats if the weather is good.
5) From Nairobi, try and get to Limuru for a breathtaking view of the Great Rift Valley.

Hope this helps,

Pranav

Hi, I'm travelling to Tanzania and going on safari next July, up to Kenya.

Can anyone recommend me safari companies on Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro?

Also, would it be possible to connect these with a visit to Maasai Mara Park, since this is near the border with Kenya? Or would this be simply better to be done from Nairobi?

Thanks in advance,
Pedro

Am glad Achnad mentioned Zanzibar - great place to go and very cheap from Tanzania. Great beaches, chill out, mellow and so so peaceful!

There are lots of companies. Check out Tanzania Assocation of Tour Operators (TATO) for a list. Personally, I used Africa Travel Resource (locally using The African Walking Company) for Kilimanjaro and booked my Safari with Comfort Safaris. I would use the list from TATO as a starting point, and start contacting the operators to see what they can provide and what they quote.

You can do both Maasai Mara and Tanzanian parks within a single tour - I knew a couple people who did. They had arranged from back in the UK with a company called Exodus.

Can anyone recommend a good tour compnay for safaris? Also I am looking for a nice lodge to say when we go to Masai Mara, I have heard the Governors Camp is the best- is this right?

The Masai Mara is wonderful! You cannot afford not to go, but avoid Mara Hippo lodge/ camp. Its operated by a bogus safari operator "come to Africa safaris Kenya", also in guise as "sana expeditions"

Tanzania has to be one of my favorite countires. Lots of safari options but the Serengetti and Ngorongoro crater are the obvious. For beaches you have numerous options on Zanzibar and for a bit more variety you can visit Mt Killi - if you that way inclind, climb it and there is Dar es Salam which is very arabic and in conjuction with Stone Town on Zanzibar, has some amazing history.

But as mentioned above, South Africa is a good option. Lots of variety, beaches, safaris, wineries and Jo'burg is a definate international hub if you want to skip to Madagascar.
