I am planning to travel around Argentina in December and have pretty much five weeks to travel from Puerto Iguazu to Buenos Aires, down the Atlantic coast, to Panagonia and Tiaro del Fuego, then back up along SN 40 to the Glacier National Park, the lake district, Mendoza and onto the Bolivian border. I am planning to use buses for the entire journey. Do you think that 5 weeks will be enough to cover all this ground? Has anyone done a similar trip and how long did it take?
Would anyone know a website or have an idea of the prices for longer trips by bus, for example, Puerto Iguazu -> Buenos Aires or Bahia Blanca -> Puerto Madyrn, etc. I have a feeling I can't trust the LP for prices.
Just one thing, remember that it is just as cheap flying from Patagonia to Buenos Aires as it to go by bus, but the other way around down there. Weird but that´s the way it is.
Have a magnificient trip
Gulli, it's feasible. And pretty standard, too; most people coming to Argentina do that itinerary or something closely similar, so you'll find a lot of travel buddies along the way :-)
And please, stick to your own plan and do everything by bus. Domestic flying in Argentina is not very expensive, that's true, but it's a completely irresponsible form of travel. Plus you miss out on the vaste emptyness of Patagonia...
Have fun; I'd be happy to give advice about BsAs if you're interested in tango, just drop a line.
