thailand cambodia and vietnam june and july

i'll be flying into bkk about the second week in june with an open return ticket.plan to make my way south to KO Samui and then head east to cambodia, south to VN and then north to hanoi...but no definitive itinerary. I plan on having an adventurous but safe trip..budget..hostels..about 20 to 30 usd per day. Any advice would be welcome... also looking for travel buddies.
