This thread is marked as being about Canada

My parents are coming from Alberta to visit me in southwestern Ontario in late September, and mentioned they'd like to visit Manitoulin Island. I've never been there, and would like to see it, but are things open in September? What's there to see and do?

Similar question about the Bruce Peninsula... I have more of an idea we'd still be able to go up there and see stuff at that time of year, but for instance, will hotels still be open in the Tobermory area?

Looks like it is open thorugh October, tons of info on the site about what to see, where you can stay etc....
There is a link on the site to either download a copy of the guide book or have it mailed to your door. Lots of info there too!
Have fun! :) And let us know about it when you get back!

Manitoulin Island Ive been to before and its awesome, but I was staying with friends who have tons of property and ATV's and stuff so Im not too sure what else there is there.
Tobermory is great. Definitely head to the national park and take a walk to the boulder beach, grotto and overhanging cliff. Weather should still be great and the water is at its warmest in early september.
This is one of my favourite areas of Ontario, enjoy it!
