I was wondering if I could get some insight on travelling to Croatia this August. There are 6 of us going, trying to coordinate landing in Paris on the same day. We'd like to rent a car to get to Hvar, an island in Croatia. Do you know of any car rental company that would let us take the car to Eastern Europe?
If not, can someone suggest the cheapest way for the group to get from Paris to Hvar?
Thanks in advance!
It is highly unlikely that you'll find one. It is usually a hassle trying to get a rental car across just one border, from Paris to Croatia it will be 5 or 6.
Possible ways would include a global Eurail pass (train: Paris-Munich, Munich-Zagreb) or Eurolines.
You should also try to check out cheap flights through www.skyscanner.net from Paris in the general direction of Croatia. Maybe you can all book a ticket on the same plane that goes from Paris to Ljubljana or Zagreb.

you could rent a car from Paris to Ljubljana, Slovenia since that is still EU, from there is easy to catch a bus or rent another car
