Hi,

I plan a tour in croatia, from the 1st july to the 8th. We arrive in the split Airport on a saturday, leave on saturday. We would like to spent some time on the islands.
My first question is :

Should we settle down in trogir or split for the first night ?

I've check out the ferry lines, to go from islands to others, it's not very clear and i would like to know if it's easy to go from an island to another with the ferries.

We would like to go to nice places but not overcrowded ones, and quiet ones. what major places would you recommend ?

thnks for your answers.

bye

Laurent

hey!

I went island hopping in Croatia last year but we went the opposite way to you. Started in Dubrovnik and headed upto split. I got a ferry from Dubrovnik to Korcula(which is realllly cool!good nightlife, lots to do during day!), then we went to Hvar which is fantastic! can't say a bad word about it bar the fact that its kinda crowded when looking for somewhere to lie down!!.. then we went to Split! So if you went backwards, I would really advise Hvar, considering I'm pretty sure theres a direct ferry! We planned on spending 3 days there but stayed for 6! I would advise booking accom. before you go though! It can be hard to get some!!

Any other querries, go ahead and ask me!!

hmmmm....lets see....i would stay in split just because you won't waste a lot of time to get on ferry. it is big city, but is worth seeing...
my favorite place on earth is Supetar on island Brac.... Bol is cool too, it is home of Croatia open, tennis tournament...all towns on island are small and at that time of year....i really doubt they will be overcrowded...there will be a lot of people, though....hvar is another one, and like brac has lots of little towns, stari grad, hvar, jelsa, vrboska..... hvar is the biggest and i would assume loudest, just like bol on brac....
i am not sure about inter island ferries either... i know they have buses on island so no worry there, but i found that there are connections, they are local, but no web sites. on hvar.hr you can find some info how to get from brac to hvar...hope i helped, if i can help more specifically i will do more research

tip : towns on hvar hvar, stari grad, jelsa, sucuraj, vrboska
towns on brac bol, supetar, sumartin, milna
split, drvenik are on the coast and vis is another island
