Ive got about 10 days to spend in Austraila. I have decided to go to only one city and explore it as much as I can in 10 days. Where should I go ... Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane?

It depends as to what you normally like doing/seeing.

For New Years i would say either Melbourne or Sydney. Sydney has great fireworks over the harbour and is one big party. Melbourne again has great fireworks and the whole city becomes on big party on the night. Weather at that time is vaired but will generally be the warmest up in brisbane. There are lots of things to do/see in both places. In Sydney you have the harbour, you could climb the harbour bridge, there are lots of good places to shop and there are some great beaches. Melbourne (i'm a bit biased because i live there) is a fantastic city and is slightly cheaper than Sydney. There are lots of things to do in melbourne, it is a great city for nightlife with literally hundereds of bars and clubs all within a few blocks of each other. Melbourne is also a cultural capital with numerous musuems, gallerys etc to keep you occupied. Melbourne also has great beaches but as everyone knows Melbourne always has four seasons in a day and the weather is unpredictable. If you are in melbourne over new years you'll be able to catch the aussie summer staple of cricket at the MCG - unfortunatley you miss the footy season. Other than that both Melbourne and Sydney are great citys. I'm not bagging Brisbane but if you are only choosing one place to visit i'd pick between Melbourne and Sydney.

Hope this helps, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask,

Jess

I have been planning on going to Brisbane (I dont know why) That is just the place I have chosen for some reason, but I am open to going any of the 3 places. Which place would save me the most money?

Well lm spending New Years Eve in Sydney! I hope the weather is good! Im looking forward to the fireworks over the harbour - it will beat cold, wet and freezing Belfast anyway!

Not Brisbane. To be honest, you'll be completely disappointed. I lived there for 4 years and every new years was a dismal waste of time. From what i've heard the real party is in Sydney. More fireworks, nicer clubs, better atmosphere. There's really ont that much to do in Brisbane. The fireworks are lame, and it'll be stinking hot and humid compared to Sydney.

What about the Gold Coast on New Years Eve? Are all the good-lookin women in Melbourne or what?

All the plastics are on the Gold Coast. Good looking, but fake blonde hair, super dark tans, fake breasts and complete airheads. Of course, that doesn't go for all women on the Gold Coast... just the stereotype.
