Hello friends,

I want to travel from krakow to prague in august, but I can't plan my trip coz I don't have any idea about the fares of the trains. I've been looking on the internet and I just found schedules, but no prices at all.

So, it would be very helpful if you can provide me any information on this matter. i'm not looking for the fastest train, I just want get (at night) from krakow to prague in a normal train.

Thanks in advance... hope to hear from you soon.

I did this exact trip about end of july last year. I remember I had to go to a travel agent to get a price and the ticket, but i'm not 100% on the cost. It wasn't too expensive though. I'm sorry this post isn't very useful. I took a lot of train trips (from russia through to germany with many stops) and i remember the price of the ticket was very reasonable and consistent with the prices I paid throughout the rest of eastern europe, but I don't want to quote a ball-park incase I get your hopes up or quash a plan you may have had by over-estimating.

Hey, we're making roughly the same journey in September but are planning on also travelling to Budapest and Bratislava (not in that order). I'm having the same problems finding individual ticket prices as I would like to compare with the Interrail pass. If you get anyway, I need the help too!!

We made the opposite journey - Prague to Krakow - a couple of years ago. We bought the tickets the day before at the train station in Prague. I think it cost around 15GBP per person (I've forgotten the conversion rates - sorry) which felt very cheap indeed for that kind of distance, and it was really easy to sort out. Not sure if it would be different booking in Krakow. Have fun!

I went to (Czech train website). They said the journey is 500+ km. If this was a national journey in the Czech Republic, you would pay 362 CZK for it, which is 13 EUR.

Krakow to Katowice is 78 km, wich costs 17 PLN (= 4.30 EUR).
Calculating this up to 500 km: around 100 PLN, making it 25 EUR.

Hope this helps a bit.
