Oz and NZ, what do you think?

Travel Forums Round the World Travel Oz and NZ, what do you think?

I am planning a trip to OZ and NZ for about 6 months starting in October. I am debating a RWT or one way tickets. I only plan on going to (this is from Cleveland, USA) Australia, NZ, Fiji and if I have a stop over in Singapore I might spend time there. Is it worth it to get a round the world fare? What are the pros and cons of RWT? Do you have to set dates that you want to fly ahead of time? How flexible is it?

If someone has done this sort of trip could you give me any advice or suggestions? Sorry if many of these questions are repetitive. Thanks so much.

Personally I wouldn't say RTW unless you decide to add more destinations.

Hi, I am doing practicaaly the same but from UK:
UK- Singapore-oz (into perth out of Cairns)-NZ (into Auckland out of Christchurch)-fiji-cook islands-tahiti-N america (into LA out of San fran-Uk.
I went with STA- great service and nice people!! for £1177 inc tax.
I am not sure what the deal is in america but i know STA are international.
You get to change the dates as you like (setting a temporary one to begin with) but it costs about £10 everytime you do this. And you have to be back to your home country within a year. Hope this is helpful sorry its in £ and not US$.
Corinne :) Good luck

Hey, call up one of the RTW trip providers, STA, aitreks, etcs and ask them for a price estimate - they are usually very helpful and can help plan out the details of your trip. You can always turn down their offer if you find a better one. I will be in NZ in Oct. Let me know if you hear of any exceptional places to go.
