Hi guys

I'm travelling Chile for 3 months , July-September. I will be in Santiago for the first month (learning spanish) and then i'm thinking of heading north to go backpacking and camping wild.
Does anyone know where the best places are to camp wild in north chile? Apparantly the beaches south of Arica are good, so i may get a bus up there.

If anyone has any general tips, advice or stories about chile please let me know. It would all be pretty useful, if not essential ;)

Thank guys! :)

Valle the Elqui "Elqui VAlley" near la serena is a must during winter, cause you would have nice sunny days, (But very cold nigths aswell)
other places that i would suggest are Bahía Inglesa, Parque Nacional Pan de Azucar, Punta de Choros, San Pedro de Atacama and specially it´s surroundings.

I forgot to tell you about peninsula de Mejillones, is absolutley off the common path in tourism, but it worth a visit ( is near to Mejillones town, but hard to move in without a car)
