Good point about Scotland Sam!
I just took this course on British culture & society as part of my translation course and have (re)learned to clearly distinguish between:
-UK: England+Scotland+Wales+Northern-Ireland
(The UK is a 'country' or 'state' which consists of 4 'nations')
-Great-Britain: England+Scotland+Wales

So, never say 'English' of 'England' when you really mean: British or Great-Britain!

It is after all a bit of a sensitive issue, with reason.... quite a bit of oppression of local cultures, so it makes sense.

Oh right, how many countries?
The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Germany, Spain, Andorra, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, England, Wales, USA, Canada, Sri lanka, Jordan

Very touchy indeed. Actually when we just started out this site, we got a list of different citizenships worldwide. One thing that was excluded were the countries England, Scotland etc. because (so I have been told) the passport is always for the UK, not for the individual countries. Anyway, best not get into the political issues here. I think there are dedicated forums for that

Nice list by the way, how was Jordan? Seems like a very interesting country to visit...actually the whole middle east would be amazing to visit because of the amazing cultural diversity and beautiful countries...one day!!!!!

Well, honestly, I wasn't quite sure whether I should include Jordan.. You see, I didn't actually do a lot of travelling there. The only reason why I did include it is because I spent the night there and that was my minimum requirement for 'having travelled to'. We got stuck in Jordan, on the way back from Sri Lanka, and were forced to spend the night in a hotel in the middle of nowhere. So, I mostly saw a large 'eastern-European'-style hotel, with a huge Christmas tree (very 'middle-eastern'). The food was good though... and the surroundings looked exotic enought, but I should really do this more properly some other time!!:)

Hey guys, My name is Tony.

I did travel through Barbados on the way to St. Vincent. I do have to say I highly recomend St. Vincent as a place to go. I would go in the winter next time. In the summer is the beggining of their rainy season. While I was there I climbed an active volcano. How cool. I did the Ijet thing and found out that it was safer there then it is to stay here in the US. The people of St. Vincent were wonderful. Some of the friendliest people I have ever met. I also sailed to the neiboring island of Beqiua. The people there are some of the only people in the world where people can harpoon a whale. The island as a whole can take 2 a year. They do it by hand. An amazing country.

my little list sounds pathetic now. I've been to the west coast and the south of the USA (where I live), Canada, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Vatican City, and Monaco.
Next year we plan on seeing Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt. I also want to see England, Scotland, Wales, and lots more of Greece before I get too creaky to enjoy it!

This must be the most popular tread in the whole forum. Cool

Thought I'll add my little list.

1- England
2- France
3- USA

Looking at all the other (long) lists, I can't help being envious. But I'm a bit curious. How often do you guys travel in a year? I mean, I see some people who had travelled to 60 countries!!! Amazing!

OK - I'll give it a try:-

USA (lots of bits from Hawaii to New York and from New England to Florida not forgetting LA and Vegas ,etc.), Canada, Jamaica, St Lucia, Ireland, England + Scotland + Wales (learned from previous posts), France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Monaco, Spain, Gibraltar, Tunisia, Italy, Israel, Turkey, Norway, South Africa, and Singapore.

I'm sure there must be more because I seem to have spent have my life traveling :( and I've racked up about half a million air miles in the last few years .

And you know there is probably a Tale (some funny :), some scary associated with each one of those places - like the time in Holland when I ended up naked surrounded by a crowd of people screaming in Dutch and the police getting ready to take me away for the night. And all because I went to sleep in my hotel room

Travel well and return home safely,

simplyjond

Welcome to all the new posters! It is an active little thread this one and it keeps surfacing nicely...

simplyjond, I simply couldn't help and resist but ask about your time in Amsterdam. I have spent many nights in Amsterdam, but never something like that....what happened? Just curious :)

Cheers,
