misslucky has indicated that this thread is about Japan

how safe is it for a 20yr old female?

it might be a bizarre question, but i really want to go there this year, but no one will come with me :( so should i go alone? or is it unsafe? etc...

You will be fine. I lived in Japan for 4 years and never once worried about my safety. I used to walk home alone at 4am and never worry about it. If you are in Tokyo a lot of people speak English so you'll be fine there too. the only bad thing about being in Japan is that it is expensive to travel around so make sure you buy a JR rail pass before you leave to go there.

I love Japan and consider it to be my second home. Theres lots to see and do.

I am hard pressed to think of a country that I felt more safe than in Japan.

I don't want to go off making claims that I can't back up with any figures, but my guess would be that street crime in Japan is pretty much nil.. The sort of street crime you're talking about anyways. Like I said I can't give you any numbers or anything, but I never felt uncomfortable in the times I have been there.

Hi!

I agree, Japan is such a safe place - I lived there for 2 years and never felt threatened or compromised.

The Japanese are peaceful and polite people and there's no need to worry about random violence. I encourage you to go on your own - it's always an interesting experience to travel alone and you discover so much more about yourself.

You'll love Japan! You'll feel enchanted and safe there!
Promise!
