Hello,

I hope you are all well and planning or are on your next trek.

I am going to be in Europe from September to early October and I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts about this plan (or lack there of.)

8 days in Amsterdam. Will be picking up a few days work at a tradeshow.
2-3 days in Copenhagen
Stockholm/Sweden for 7 days
Maybe down into Germany for a few days or
Back to Amsterdam for 2-3 days
London/England for the remainder

This all very loose with the exception of Amsterdam and London. Flying in and out of these places.

My main questions are, should I book my trains in advance or show up and book them the day before or of? I also assume Eurail is the way to go.

The other question is should I book all the hotels ahead or print a list of possible places in each city and be flexible? I booked Amsterdam as that time of the year for the tradeshow the place is packed.

Any info would be appreciated! Peace al.

Don't worry much about booking trains in advance, for most trains if you just reserve a ticket a couple of days before it will be fine. I think your plan is ok so long as you use Amsterdam and Stockholm as a "base" to go see some other places, spending a week just in these cities seems like a bit much to my tastes, but I'm not really a big city person (Stockholm is very nice though).

Thanks for the info. I am working in Amsterdam so I will be there for the 8 days. I am going to be in Stockholm proper for 3 days. I figure I will play the rest by ear.

If I m only going to go to 3-4 cities via train, is it wise to buy the Eurail pass or just purchase tickets as needed? I plan on flying to London from the last country I go to prior.

Best,
