Hi

I am a freelancer photographer, heading for Philipines for six months, Cebu first, staying with relatives. I want to know where are the regions that attract people the most and also some poverty striken areas that are safe to visit?

I am not so much interested in landscape photography and beaches as I am in Photojournalism and the human condition -> interesting people shots, philippino working life, portraits, street shots such as children playing in streets, etc.

I feel as though this could turn out to be a unique photography project and so if anyone could offer any accomodation assistance that would be appreciated and not forgotten.

Depending on the way things turn out, I hope to publish some of these shots back in Australia and get people talking about the beautiful Philippino culture.

So anyone with any help let me know . thanks.

You can find kids just about anywhere.

When you are in Manila see if you can do something with the kids living in the city dump. There are lots of street urchins peddling cigaretts or begging all over the city.

There are streets that the taxi cab driver tell you to lock your doors and roll the windows up to avoid little buggers reaching into the cab. Do a pictorial on that (watch your camera gear.)

If you want friendly smiling clean kids go to an area with farms or to a Catholic school (get permission first.)

Read up on Mindinao, you may want to avoid that area.

Hi.

When are you comming over to Cebu?

I can hook you up with the right people for your project. I work in the PR industry so i know some people who can help you out.

You can also tie up with the right agency so they could assist you with regards to security and what not, i could help you out on that one as well.

And if you want, you can also publish your photos locally. Sort of an eye opener for Cebu people.

Your thoughts?
