wrong_jon has indicated that this thread is about Spain

hello... i am going to beautiful spain (flying to malaga) on the 19th may 2004. Ive got a one way ticket, a tent, a mountain bike, and a big appetite for adventure. I will hopefully be doing some voluntary work on the way, and would love to sample the "real" spain. Any tips, or info on things not to miss will be greatly appreciated. I would love to see stunning scenery, deserted beaches, wildlife, ancient monuments, sample the local quisine, and meet interesting people. Know any good camping spots? Please let me know, and maybe meet you over there....

Thanks, Jon.

hasta luego!

Hi!!
You have choose well to start your trip becouse the south is not so hot and you can travel to the north.
I will recommend you to travel through small villages and avoid big cities, that is the best way to let to know people.
I would say that there are lovely small places to visit in Andalucia as Alpujarras or Sierra Granadina (Montefrio) The village at the cost are tourist places quite nice some of them but I wont spent too much time on them.
Travel to the nort there are lovely places as Ubeda, still at Andalucia. You can visit Mérida, and some small places as Jarandilla or La Alberca Close to Madrid I would visit Toledo, Avila.... La Sierra Madrileña is also really nice but terrible hot during the summer.
When you decide more about your trip it would be possible for me to tell you about what to eat, what to visit or what to do at a differnt place.
have a nice stay
