Dearest all travellers,

For those of you who are planning to travel SEA within these few months, please, please, please do take the time off and check out www.airasia.com . It is offering really cheap air tics deals starting from as low as 8 Baht (am not kidding!). Air Asia is a Malaysia based budget airline company (similar to Virgin Blue). I hope this tip is gonna be of help!

I am in no way related to air asia or promoting them ... just doing my bit in helping fellow travellers to stretch every cent to their limit!

Cheers!

8 baht? WOW!!
For those who haven't been to Thailand that is somerwhere around
20 cents US or EU
and still under a dollar Canadian
That is pretty amazing. I'll have to check out the site.

FYI, the super cheap prices posted are for selected flights only.

BTW, I've just checked the AirAsia website. It's "FROM THB 9 ONE WAY", not THB 8 as mentioned by SpaceCadet. This super low price is for all flights from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima, for this month only, and must be booked 3 days in advance.

Anyway, they have a few sets of prices.
1. Promo (super cheap) prices, valid on promotional flights for a limited period.
2. Early birds price. Must be purchased in advance (normally more than 30-40 days). This price is avaiable daily, but not on all flights.
3. The cheaper-than-other-airlines price, valid for all purchases. This is their normal price.

So, if you are sure of your schedule, go for the early bird price if possible.

I was told by a local that Air Asia is raising their prices by about a few hundred baht. Still very cheap. For example, the one way ticket from BK to Chiang Mia used to be $500 baht, but now it's $800 (less than $10 us dollars).

Also, the rates will vary and it appears that booking in advance (1-2 weeks) before may give you better rates and flight times...

I booked from bangkok to SG and also from BK to Chiang Mai.
