Hi,

I'm planning to travel to Poland in August. I've already visited Warschau and Krakow, it was very nice there.

But this year, I'd like to do something different ... I'd like to stay at a lake somewhere (so preferably it's not too cold), where it's quiet and peaceful, and where I can swim a lot BUT at night I'd like to go out and meet nice people and eat good food ;-)

So, does something like this exist in Poland? Nature and swimming, in the proximity of a good nightscene and lots of young people?

Thanks for answering my question,
Jan

Hello!

I did travel around Poland during August last year, and it was packed everywhere. I stayed few days in each place: Warsaw, Krakow, Zakopane and Gdansk... Although Warsaw was better in terms of aglomeration.

There is a kind of "Lake District" in the NOrth East ot the country, but I didn't visit it. The temperature in Poland is great, every day about 22 °C to 25º, sometimes a bit hotter, but usually very pleasant.

Gdansk (in the north of the country) actually is a great spot, but a bit packed (in my opinion) in August. They have a market running, and there is always people around, although a very pleasant and nice spot. We had a great time there!

Hello!

The best place for you is definetely north - east Poland.
City name: Olsztyn - it's the biggest city in this region, so it would be a great "base" for further travels. They have also very good information points ( in english, german etc. ). The city is surrounded by lakes.

enjoy!
