INTERRAIL...EXTRA CHARGES FOR FERRIES

Travel Forums Europe INTERRAIL...EXTRA CHARGES FOR FERRIES

does anybody know what the extra charges for catching ferries with a global interrail pass are like? I want to go from greece to italy (probably Patras to Bari) at some point on my trip, mostly likely in mid august. I've had a look at the web site which indicates that ferry routes are covered...but i expect, like eurail, there will be some kind of surcharge.
Does anybody know about how long this trip would take by ferry also?
;)

If you aren't a resident in Europe you cannot buy Interrail. You must get Eurail, which is a totally different pass.

See www.eurail.com

For anybody else reading this: Most ferry companies give a 50% discount on their ferry tickets to Interrailers. There are one or two ferries that are free between Italy and Greece, IIRC. (I think one was between Brindisi and Patras.)
