Well Joel, I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this to you, but Australia is a rather BIG place, straddling longtitude 130 in the north (Darwin) to 147 in the south (Hobart), so it's a bit like asking "How long is a piece of string?" !

To make it easy, when you're experiencing winter in the Northern Hemisphere, we're having the opposite (i.e. summer) down here in the Southern Hemisphere. That said, the northern areas, especially Darwin in the "top end" of the Northern Territory, experience sub-tropical temperatures all year around with little variation, other areas tend to have distinct seasonal differences.

If you REALLY wanted to do a bit of research on the weather though, you could always go to this: www.bom.gov.au , which is the Bureau of Meteorology website, then go to "Climate Averages" on the RH side of the page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the multi-coloured map of Australia, click on a region of interest, then pick a locality and view the statistics from the archives !

Hi Jazz
I have lived in the south west of Western Australia, and Perth all my life. Got to boast that we are having the best weather at the moment (except for the fact that our dams do not have enough water)
It is less than one month to the first month of 'winter' and for this week and last week we have had perfect 24-29 celcius weather. It is too good. I guess our summer is long like Canada's winter is. I am coming there for the ski season this year, yay!
I don't know if you are planning to come to WA but it is great all year around just a little rainy and not beach weather June-September. But if you want to travel up our coast which alot of travellers do, anytime except the peak of summer is good...so not Dec-Feb just too hot, but it is great in Perth and the SouthWest from October-May.
You beautie!
