I have been using the site for a couple of months now and found it really really useful! So I thought I would take time to introduce myself properly.
47, recently seperated, decided to live my dream and head off to Africa for a few months before moving down south (I am in Scotland). The painful thing is the wait! I don't leave until October and going out of my mind stuck in my old job and old routines.I keep telling myself that time is money and the more money I have, the longer I can stay away and the more places I can visit!
Doing an overland trip Cairo to Cape then heading up to Madagascar solo. From there, who knows!
Anyone with any brilliant suggeations..I am all ears!
Hello - your trip sounds wonderful - and October aint that far way!! I know how you feel though - we are not heading away again until 23rd Dec - 6 whole months SO SO far away! Still l have a break at the end of August for 3 nights in Lake District to visit a friend which will be fun!! Get a calander and count down to your leaving date!
And in the meantime you will have the wonderful TP to keep you occupied!!
Welcome to the site!
Thanks Heather. If you have not been to Lakes before, it is fantastic! Hope the weather is good for you!
15 weeks and 4 days till I leave my job, then two weeks pulling my hair out before leaving Scotland. Not long really is it!
Welcome to the forums or to the chat or just to the introduction forum. How are you? I dont see you on the chat recently. Are you busy with the trip planning? Hope everything is well and I catch you later in the chat.
Take care One of the devil sis.
Hey Claire, welcome to TP!!
You know, there is someone named baluba who's been posting here and there...
Anyone with any brilliant suggestions..I am all ears!
Suggestion #1: Don't feed the lemurs, they'll just whiz on you!!
Suggestion #2: Have fun, and don't look back.
Suggestion #3: Try the South African beer. I haven't had it since SAB merged with Miller Beer here in the USA.
Welcome to TP!!! Though I have said that to you already - doesn't hurt repeating it!
I see you have now met my other half - Beerman! Yeah - watch out for those lemurs. They like to rifle through your backpack and try on your clothes. Then they whiz on you.
You will have a wonderful trip! Send post cards!!! (I'll PM our address.) But, please don't mix ours up with the "other" 2 you are going to send!
You're trip sounds incredible, definitely an experience of a lifetime.
PS Why would you want to leave Scotland???
