I had a friend of mine tell me that her family stays in the dorms of some university in paris when they visit. she said it was really cheap, nice, and you get breakfast. But, i did not get the name of the university, and now i cannot find any info on it. Does anyone know anything about this???? I think the name of the school started w/ an S or something like that!

Thanks everyone!!

Heya :)

The only university in Paris that I know of that starts with an S is the Sorbonne, but I did a little reserach and I can't see any info about dorms being open to travellers. I found one, Cite University (Or Cité Internationale Universitaire) that's on Boulevard Jourdain. They're general information number is : 01 44 16 64 00. Now, I don't know if that number will show up on the post, but you can go to www.ciup.fr to get it, which is the University's official website (you can click on "English" if yuo can't read French ;)). According to all my Paris maps (lol, I'm in love with the city and need to go back soon!), the university is in the 14th Arondissment (borough) and is rather far from the centre of the city.

Just as a side recommendation, I stayed at Centre International de Paris (BVJ): Paris Louvre. It was a five minte walk from the Louvre and was pretty good! You get a free breakfast and the rooms are clean. Just type that into either google or one of the online hostel search engines (like hostelz.com) and you can take a look at some pictures and even book online (that's what I did).

Hope this helped!

Cheers,
Katie ;)

I didn't stay at a university in Paris but there are alot of resonable hostels as well. I loved
Hotel Du Sejour in the 3eme/ 4eme. For a double it is 43 Euros. You dont want to stay too
far from the center of Paris to save money. You'll just end up spedning the difference on
transportation.

I created a public folder with links to hostels I've stayed at, my tips, passport and visa
docs, pictures, and just stuff I like to share from my experieneces. Please feel free to check
it out.
