I have decided to go to Australia at the end of Jan 05 to travel and work hopefully for a year. Big decision to have made ever. I have all the first time nerves.
I am 29yrs at the momment but by time I travel I will be 30. A bit late to decide to go away but hey life is too short and I am looking for an amazing adventure. I enjoy meeting new people.
If anyone can give me advice on visa's etc and what is the most important things to do B4 going it would be really appreciated.
Id advise to book your ticket NOW..thats what I did and then no turning back. Its also a busy time to travel so flights will get booked up.
Once you have booked it then its great surfing the net etc..deciding which parts you want to go to.
Im 36 ..and the same as you left it a bit late but Im going for it, counting the days and enjoying doing all the research for the trip.
Get a YHA card for the discounts on the hostels, have a look into Wwoofing where you can work in exchange for bed and food, a great way to mix with the locals.
This site is good for information on what to pack and where to go etc. Get yourself the lonely planet and start reading.
Im too old for a visa..shame, so lucky you, make the most of it..
Let me know if you want any more info
Best of luck
I'd apply for your visa as soon as possible because once your 30 you can't get one, between 27-30 they can be quite strict aswell! And start saving, everything costs a lot more than u think, I've spent £1500 before I've even got there and I'm taking just over £2000 with me, its taken a lot hard saving, selling and sacrificing to do that!
