bbathome has indicated that this thread is about Singapore

Asia rooms have got to be the worst company i have dealt with...
tried to book two night Oxford Hotel Singapore for September 2006...
First they said they lost my booking could i please rebook two weeks and twenty e.mails later they said they could not proceed with my booking at the advertised rate as it was no longer available....
Asiarooms continue to advertise Oxford Hotel AUS$68 on there web site...They then say it is not available and suggest much more expensive accomadation...If its not available don't advertise it.
apart from being the worst site they refused to allow you to complain to anyone other than a teleoperator.
I would suggest you not book with this company!

That's odd. I just got back from Hong Kong. I booked the Excelsior through Asiarooms because they had the cheapest rate I could find. I had no problem booking the room - I did it on-line and they confirmed my reservation about a day later. Fortunately, everything went smoothly at the hotel when I got there (I was a little worried about that, because I hate how difficult it can be to get a room in HK sometimes). I guess everyone has different experiences...

We've used asiarooms on numerous occasions and never had any problems. Maybe a one off?

I have also used Asiarooms.com for a booking in cambodia with no problems.

Maybe asiarooms are sick of all the bad reports about them and have lifted their game. I felt the need to relay my dealings with them and still say I would never use them again there are heaps better sites out there
Cheers

See my post in the other asiarooms.com forum of this site. The first paragraph is below; you can find the rest of my unhappy experience in that forum if interested...

I will NEVER use AsiaRooms.com again. I believe that, if you never change a reservation and you never have a problem with a hotel, you'll probably get the room you paid for with this site. But whoa to you if there is ANY sort of issue. You'll be on your own. And if you are like us, you'll be sorry you used asiarooms.com.

Availability depends usually on demand. And so does the price for hotels in Singapore.

The Singapore government is doing a good job in promoting events and tradefairs. So most time Singapore hotels are extremely busy. What the hotels do then is to apply so called ad hoc rates. So rates may change 5 times over one day. That puts agents into a very difficult position.

Usually dot.com's will advise their customers on this though.
