Hi, I'm Regina and I am brand new to the forums. But, I decided to join because I am looking for a travel buddy in May 2007 (after I graduate from college - I go to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins CO- majoring in Family Consumer Science)
I don't know if people usually post 1 year early - but I thought I would because I have a better chance of finding cool people to travel with that way, plus it gives people time to save $$$ up. I'm guessing this trip will cost anywhere from $2,000 - 5,000. But, since I've never traveled outside of the US before, I really have no clue. Maybe somebody could give me advice here. How much does 1 mo. traveling the south pacific cost, and also europe? How much would you recommend/or did you need when you went?
Anyway, My plan is to go to somewhere like Fiji, Tahiti, Australia, New Zeland, maybe other places in the south pacific like Thailand, Phillippines. I heard Fiji was cheap so that's probably a spot on my list. Does anybody know cheap places in the south pacific that are truly tropical "paradises" that you see in calendars, movies....? I want a place with crystal clear turquoise water, tropical flowers everwhere, colorful birds, coconut trees, white sandy pristine beaches and not a lot of people. ANY BODY have ANY recommendations there?
If my budget allows it I also want to hit Europe, but I have no clue if $2,000-5,000 will allow me to hit those different parts of the world in a 2 month timespan.
I am open though to suggestions about whether Europe or the South Pacific is better, budget allocations, best locations in the south pacific and if anybody wants to go in May 2007 with me.
