sloveniaT has indicated that this thread is about Slovenia

My friend and I are going around Spain in July (for 14 days). We are flying to Madrid and will spend there two days. After that we still don'n know in which way to go. But we want to see East and South beach. Couse we are students lots of things are too expensive. I wonder if hitchhiking is safe for two girls? I look on a web for hostels and they are very full till now. The problem is that we cannot reservate it now because we will plan ou trip day after day. So, is it realy hard to find cheap accomodation? Is it pssible to sleep on a beach if we don't find a hostel? If you have experiances with backpacking aroun Spain pleas answer me couse anythink will helps.

I've heard about a new coach network traveling within Spain & Portugal for backpacking enthusiasts called Eurohop -

I checked on their webpage and they are doing some great discounts.

- Eastern Route, including Madrid-Zaragoza- Barcelona-Valencia and back to Madrid = 50 pounds sterling only.

- Lands of the Sun Route, including Madrid- Toledo-Granada-Cordova-Seville-Lagos-Lisbon-Salamanca- and back to Madrid = costs around 115 pounds sterling.

I learnt that tickets are valid until 30 September. Travelers can hop on and hop off whenever they want, without additional charges. Coaches stop in each destination every two days; and they have onboard guides to give tips about alternative places to visit and so on...

Make sure you go to Barcelona. It's a great place and has good nightlife. There are lots of hostels just off of Las Ramblas, or you can go to and find some for cheap. If you make this your last stop on your trip you can take a RyanAir flight for cheap to Milan or Venice which will put you close to Slovenia. As with RyanAir the flight is actually out of Girona, which is about 60-90 minutes away by train, but the ride was only about 5 euros.

I don´t know if you already are on your way, but I also recommend Barcelona! Then from Barcelona to the south you should follow the coastline a part of your jouney, it´s very nice there. You should also go to Valencia and Granada, they are absolutely worth visiting!

I wouldn´t say sleeping on the beach is safe, at least in barcelona. There beaches are full of thieves and i know too many people (including myself) who have been robbed there at night even if not sleeping! I don´t know what´s the situation elsewhere..
