Sorry to be a party pooper, but Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world- because we don't have an ozone layer.
So make sure you have your sunscreen on. Lots of people get hospitalised with serious burns just from sun burn. i'm not kidding. you can FEEL it burn. Feels nice and warm.

Wise words Fiona - lm definately slapping on a really high factor - can still get a tan with it and no nasty burns - sun burn aint pretty and can ruin a holiday! I know on my first day in Bali last year l sat out for a minute period of time and only put sun screen on the bits l could reach - result - a lovely beetroot red back - NOT a good look! I would rather fake the tan than burn.

Hear, hear! The sun can burn you straight through a white t-shirt as well, so pay attention!

the sun in oz is hotter than anywhere els. The temperature doesnt even need to be that high for you to feel the sun burning your skin... it has a real sting to it.

i love it just for that reason
