I'm here in a little village in the Philippine islands and i see so many really tore up, sick looking, SKINNY as hell, bad health looking dogs and cats around the area, i was walking with a bag of cheeto's and tried giving the dog some today and he didnt even know what to do

makes me sad, a starving hungry dog didnt even know what to do with food

so so sad

as an animal love, please if any situation you can help a dog (or any animal) to feel loved and noticed even if for only a second please do it

Perhaps even a starving dog doesn't like Cheetos?

I always felt bad for the cows in India in the cities. I always wondered, does anyone actually own them? Especially since they're sacred, surely wandering through traffic busy streets munching on rubbish is no life for a holy animal?

I've heard that their stomachs get full of plastic bags and it slowly kills them. They deserve to be living out their days in a field somewhere.

I wondered the same thing in Italy, which is an industrialized country. Everywhere we went we saw stray, sickly, starving dogs - and spaying and neutering is apparently non-existant. Them domestic doggies had all their parts.

It was sad to see - esecially in Pompeii, where us tourists walked around dozens of dogs too weak to even more out of the blazing sun. There must be organizations like the SPCA over there, but I assume they're overwhelmed...

Perhaps the people in those 3rd world countries are too busy trying to feed themselves??? Not everyone in the world enjoys the excesses of North America where the average family only spend 11% of their income on food and still eat like Kings and Queens.

PS. Before flaming me, I am a dog nut who takes 4 weeks off work when I have a litter of pups and grieves the lose of cherrished pet months after they have passed.

Ok,people,or shall i say to you Zachary...

There are no such thing as 3rd world countries, there are rich countries sucking the blood out of poor countries.... So please no more of this 3rd world country stupid stuff...

For such people who have travelled&have broaden their horizons, people who have gotten to know other's ways of living... Your're supposed to be intelligent people, what happened to you guys...?

Ok,enough of the criticism,i'm truly sorry about the animals but honestly, people are hungry everywhere on the planet...When are world leaders going to wake up&stopping sucking the money out of this people...
This is a very sad business(this world)I truly believe that there are good people out there&it's up to us to make it a better place for humans&animals...

And also,in some countries, people are not simply animals friendly,i'm afraid...

It's up to each&one of us to make this planet right...

So there are no 3rd world countries, sorry - poor countries that are having the blood sucked out of them - that are in their situation due to corruption, internal conflict, poor management, despot regimes, etc. It's all simply the fault of the likes of the US, Australian, UK, etc.

And you talk about intelligent people....

3rd world country is a term used to associate the poor, hungry, unfortunate countries, i live in the philippines so trust me i know, but using the term "3rd world" is just to help ppl identify better, most ppl do know that

but anyways, pls go feed or pet or hug a dog today!!!!!

I fed my cat today then she made an attack on the packet of dried food sitting on shelf spilled it everywhere and l had to clean it up. No she didnt get a hug!!

I think I have gotten my quota of hugging in today (and everyday). All of my inside "kids" (ie: cats) got their morning hug and have decided to forgive me for treating them all with earmite meds yesterday. (I think they just forgot they were suppose to still be mad.) And, I petted and hugged all the ones I could get my hands on outside - that was 10 of them. I'm also "doctoring" two 10 week old kittens that a rogue male decided shouldn't exist (he lethally harmed the 3rd too). The kits are safe in a huge carrier and on the mend. They got extra hugs (and for Tway - kisses!).

As the Moderator for this forum, please don't turn this thread into a debate/arguement about the semantics of what is a first, second or third world country. It's about the animals, not the politics, and whether a nation is rich or poor - starving/abused animals can be found everywhere. Having been a Vet. Technologist in Vet clinics, I've seen my share of both. Thank you in advance for keeping this thread on topic. ;)
