Hows it going everyone, can anyone give me some info on good overland companies doing africa trips, i have looked into a few and oasisoverland which i particurarly like the look of and their friendly, the overland club and kumuka, also is between sort of october-november until feb-march a good time for weather and excursions and so on. I usually travel independantly so this is the first time evr i will go on an itinerary sort of trip planned out for me so i just want to make sure that the money im handing over is worth it. thanks for your time reading this
The only overland company I've travelled with is Africa Travel Cohttp://www.africatravelco.co.za/. I thought they were good and (I think) on the lower end of the scale when it comes to price. They travel with 3 crew which includes a cook, so you don't need to rely the cooking skills of your truckmates.
As someone that works in Tourism Industry, I can confirm that all of those companies are reputable and offer a good experience.
You can also try www.overlandingafrica.com. This site sells overland tours in Africa from various companies at the same price (sometimes cheaper) than the actual operators, but the people you chat to / email from OA can tell you which company will suite you/your budget/your style best and make the booking for you.
Ask for Claudia - she was an overland crew member in Africa and South America for about 6 years - she knows her stuff!

Hope that helps.
