Okay - we are official now - stickied and everything!!

TP MEET-UP: DUBLIN in September

I made an executive decision and set the dates. Past meet-up planning experience has proven that fluctuating dates, for any length of time, decreases the number of paricipants. It's hard to plan a schedule that way. Personally, (and it's just my opinion) I think Saturday would be the best day for a group gathering. Jetlag be damned! It gives people time to arrive and to get back home without interfering with their Monday morning work requirements. And, it's one less decision someone else has to make. I'm now done making decisions except to the packing, catsitting, mail delivery and that lot. ;)

Woolworths (Big W) and Asda in the North are owned by Wal-Mart - if you need anything brought down to Dublin just ask!!

Just had a thought,
knowing the type of place Paddyland is and having heavy discussions with friends, I don't think it's a good idea to take my bike - better to be safe and pissed on a plane than on the road
Flying in on the friday afternoon and heading out on the tuesday afternoon.
Now to see if there is a castle to book for a bed ......

Warning - jase and isa have a few ideas on accomadation

Due to the Ryder Cup being held on the weekend of the impending TP meet up, and lack of room (due to those who follow the biggest golfing event every 2 years) there has been a bit of brain storming.

Now due to the lack of alcahol and coffee(i'm at work and Isa has just got up) these ideas might seem a bit odd, but needs must and all that stuff.

Idea One:
Yeah we managed to come up with more than one - brilliant eh?
The idea would be get together and book a suite, that way we ought to be able to get something central and when the cost is spread we end up paying about the same as a room.
Good points:
should be able to get somewhere central
Everyone is in the same location - so no losing or never finding people (Gelli take note you pisshead).
Team spirit and all that jazz
Bad points
Lack of personal space,
Idea Two
Now this involves getting accomadation outside the city, as long as everyone is relatively close all taxi's can be shared, thus cutting down the costs.
Good points
Price
Personal privacy
Bad points
Travel time
Taxis
Not central
could be splintered accross the area

Now if you like any of these just say so or if you have your own idea please put it down.

Yes but do we have to go out boozing in central Dublin anyway??? It will be more expensive and full of tourists!!!! if we book outside the city we could go in and have a wander around take in a few sites and then head back out to the sticks for a wee party and dinner in the evening?

Nikki & Phil could surely point us in the right direction? I think if l remeber Malahide can be nice and looks over the bay?

Any thoughts?
