We are trying to find reasonable airfares for late September - early October.

Ooooh. Could be close. I'm likely to be in Ireland for a week or so around Mid-september.

BUT. If i know for sure taht you will be there a bit later, let me know some dates, and i can probably arrange to either fiddle things and come later, or come twice.

A Dublin P.U. / Crawl is a pre-requisit though.

You never know, it might be a case of smoke free/alcohol free Dublin
We all know how the paddies have a habit of doing odd things

Smoke free fine no problem - l think if you took away our booze there would be a revolution!!!

Alcohol free Ireland???? I think not... I remember that time when a particular Guiness plant was threatening to go on strike.
A week or two before there were strikes of the Aer Lingus stuff and something else, but nobody cared. Now, that particular plant was filling kegs if I remember correctly and all that would have happened was that the pubs would be short on Guiness on tap, that's all. But it was a major panic, there were people stacking up on Cans of Guiness like there was the beginning of a prohibition time...

As a venue for the drinking I suggest the Police Station as we will end up there anyway, so we can save some time...

Oh, and of course, there's the mandatory 'dressing up as leprechaun and strike a silly pose for a photograph'!

Revolution sounds good to me - FREE GUINNESS for all !!!!
Do we get bar snacks?
oh, forgot i can't remember if we need to take a torch or not? Does Dublin have electricity?

Dont worry about Dublin its fine - a total metropolis - if you were coming to Belfast thats when you need to worry! I have a gerbil running around in a cage to generate enough power for my computer!!! We have to walk bare foot to the well 500 miles away to get water!

No wonder there is a drought here then, if everyone is nicking the water

OH ALRIGHT - l exaggerated - we have to walk (bare foot mind) across the street and around the corner to the fire hydrant thing that we are not supposed to touch and get our water there!!
