Hi

I am right now in Bangkok and i wish to travel by land to combodia and vietnam , pls guide me with visa rules and whether the border is open and how to cross what mode of transport and accomodation is available.

I am looking for basic backpacker accomodation. I plan to take the train from hanoi to beijing and what is the cost involved.

You can get Cambodian visas at the border, but they are much cheaper at the embassy in Bangkok. And doing it yourself is cheaper than using an agy in BKK. You need to get a Vietnamese visa before you get to the border (Phonm Penh is easy). Most crossings are open on both borders, but a couple of smaller ones are not to foreigenrs. That shouldn*t affect you though. You also need to get a Chinese border before you try and enter China as they are not available at the border. Hanoi is easy for this. You can fly all sectors, but bus is much cheaper. From Cambodia to Vietnam, many people take a 2 or 3 day tour, which involves crossing the border by boat, and then spending a couple of days in the Mekong delta (Vietnam), which is a good option.

Unless things have changed very recently, no. The only legal way to Yangoon is to fly in
