Hi,

I've got almost 3 weeks in SE Asia, flying from London and then onto Sydney. I'll most probably spend sometime in Bangkok, Khao Sok National Park and either Ko pha Ngan/Ko phi phi. I'd also really love to travel across to Borneo.

Can anyone suggest the best possible way to get across to Boreno from Thailand reasonably quickly without spending a fortune?

Many thanks,
Andrew

Andrew,

Go to www.airasia.com. In theory, they have a BKK to Kota Kinabulu flight, though I was just messing around on the website and could not get it bring the flight up (though it appears on their fight schedules). Worst case scenerio, you could always fly to Kuala Lumpur and then over.

When are you planning on going? I'm planning on being in Borneo the first 2 weeks in October; drop me a line if your trip coincides.

Best to you.

there are two ways..you could either use the Malaysian Airline..you had to book a flight to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia then a connecting flight to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo.
or
You could book with Air Asia. Just go to their website www.airasia.com and book the tickets online..they do have a direct flight from bangkok to Kota Kinabalu..
If i were you, i 'll choose air asia...low cost, no frills..

Thanks for your replies.

Air Asia looks pretty good. Thinking of maybe changing my flight to fly into Bangkok and out of KL. Then fly BKK to KL, then KL to Kota Kinabalu.

Priced a couple of flights:
BKK to KL: £70 return
KL to KK: £60 return

Does this seem normal? Doesn't seem too bad to me.

John, will be in Borneo late Sept, maybe early October if thats any good.
