Hi, i will be arriving in bangkok on 2nd november, i have 3 months to travel around vietnam, laos and cambodia and just had a couple of questions, is this a good time weather wise for these countries, is it still hot and blue skys. Also i am probably heading up north after 1 week in bangkok to do some trekking but was wondering if it is worthwhile spending a week in myanmar and if so how to get there from chiang mai. Thanks for your time reading this any replies are much appreciated.
Weather-wise, don't expect any sunshine. November is the end of the monsoon season, so it'll still be very wet. Come December, the region tends to cool considerably (well, by regional standards). But don't let that get you down - Thailand is a great destination all year round, and a monsoon is something I think everyone should experience at least once!
Sorry I missed the second part of your question.
Air Mandalay fly from Chiang Mai to Rangoon, but I think it's only a weekly sevice, so you'll need to plan in advance. Check out their website. It'll cost you about US$100 - 150, which is okay.
Best of luck.
The end of the monsoon season is not bad at all!

The end of the monsoon season is not so bad at all!
I was in Thailand throughout October 05 and it wasn't really a problem. There were quite a few big thunder/rainstorms, mostly in the evenings, they are quite an experience but there was still loads of sun. During October the weather gradually improved a lot. If you go to places like Chiang Mai where its still very damp, if you're trekking beware of leecehes, you can get special socks that they can't get through.
November is the transition between rainy and dry seasons, so you will be past the worst of the monsoons, but it might still be a bit quiter than december to feb which is probably a good thing.
I hope you have a great time. Good luck
