Hi ya Sal,
London is changing as more and more cycle lanes are being created.
OK some of them aren't the best, but considering cyclists pay nothing towards roads they are getting a fantastic deal.
The topography of London is generally flat, so cycling is fairly easy.
As for pollution, it's like any large city.
As for cycling times that will depend on your fitness and where you have to goto, sometimes it'll be faster others not.

Hope you enjoy your time here in the Capital

Hi, I'm also moving to London and was thinking of purchasing a bike. How dangerous/difficult do you think it is to bike in London. I've read elsewhere that drivers don't really care much about cyclists/pedestrians... thanks.

I just came back from London yesterday. I think it can be quite dangerous to cycle in London as there is heavy traffic and it is quite polluted actually. I do agree that London is quite flat generally but this city is big, so, if your travelling distance is far, i would advise you to take other form of transportation.

Enjoy your stay in London, it is a very nice city!
