I'm planning a trip to SEA in January 06 and I'll be bringing my rebel XT with me together with my kit lens and my 70-200mm 2.8L. I know that both lenses and the camera is not weatherproof so do you guys have any suggestions as to how I can somewhat protect it from moisture while taking pictures? This may have been discussed a million times before but I appreciate any help with this topic

John

You can try buying a cheap plastic bag, make a hole for the lens and secure it with a plastic ribbon around the lens. This won't help against moisture that much but will keep off the raindrops.

either that, or use a UV filter as a template, cut a hole for it, then secure the plastic bag against the lens using the filter to secure it. takes a some time to do, but it's secure.

if you are visiting the city taking photos, you don't really have to worry abt the moisture. even though the humidity is high, you can easily leave your camera otuside a dry box without much problems. Otherwise, you can bring an airtight tupperware and place your camera in it with some silica gel.

if you are visiting the rain forest and you're afraid that rain will damage your camera, you can always get a rain cover.
