I am visiting thailand for a month.we are flying into singapore for four days we then intend to travel up to bankok but having difficulty with websites, timetables and routes. we are wondering whether it would be better to book when we are therebut don't know whether we sould risk not booking anything. any suggestions would be off great help, thanks.
Check out the national railway of Malaysia for train schedules and fares. They serve Singapore as well I think.
Or was it www.kmtb.com.my ? I forget. It's one of those.
Unless you just love trains, I would fly this leg: SIN-BKK. There are so many airlines flying between these cities that the airfare is less than the bus or train. Air Asia and Tiger Air are jusr 2 that offer great prices between SIN-BKK.
Another option is to do it in stages. Take the train/bus Hat Yai, over to Phuket, move over to Krabi, then overnight bus to BKK. This way you get to see a very pretty part of Thailand. Good Luck.
check out www.seat61.com/thailand.htm Its a journey from Bangkok to Singapore (or vise-versa). I've been told their prices are reasonable also.
