I see that there are quite a few entries on here about women travelling on their own in Africa, but some of them are quite old and I wondered if anyone had more recent experiences, as things may have changed. I am going to Morocco for a couple of weeks in August and I'm really looking forward to it, but having read around the subject I am getting more and more concerned about my safety. Should I be worried? Thx.
There are loads of entries under this subject, but only one response! Morocco is a very safe country, I think probably safer than most of the US and Europe. Whilst sometimes people can confuse body language and, to a lesser extent, dress, you are quite safe.
I was in Morocco in November. You shouldn't worry too much as long as you dress conservatively. Morocco is a very safe place to travel around and you'll find it quite touristy. There are a lot of Australians and people from Britain who travels there. They are very welcoming to tourists. You might get the odd stares here and there but nothing really to be alarmed about.
Just go there and have fun!
