Two of my girl friends and I are going to be spending two months next summer in Europe. We're planning on staying at hostels and trying to see as much as we possibly can. I was wondering how far in advance should I book my hostel reservations since we're going in peak season?
Any tips or suggestions are more than welcome!
It depends on where in Europe you're going to. A lot of hostels get booked up weeks ahead of time.
You might want to go to www.hostels.com and check out the availability for the dates. The problem is they could be available now but by the time you get there, all the hostels could be full.
If you want to book a popular hostel, you might be out of luck.
no worries. you have lots of time. Check out what's going on at the time you wanna be in those towns/cities/even countries which will definatly affect the availability/rates.
I am leaving in 3 weeks for Europe/Egypt and I just booked all my hostels a few days ago BUT I am on a restricted budget and had to plan everything in order to catch my flights and return home.
Sounds like you guys are a bit flexible so just check out
http://www.hostelworld.com or even the accomodations on here
and keep an eye on the availability at the places you want to stay. Check back once or twice a week and when you guys are sure you want to be there then make reservation. Just keep in mind some hostels have cancellation 48-72 hours prior to arrival or you loose deposit plus one night room and tax.
