Hi all !

I would be travelling to London for the first time and need advice on the best area to be located as staying just for 3 days and going with my wife. We would like to be in a hostel due to our tight budget.

Thanks in advance for your support.

See ya !

If you're after cheap accommodation in hostels, Earls Court is a good location. Yes, I know it's almost a cliche these days, but it's still a great location with plenty of cheap accommodation choices.

Other than that, try the Bayswater area.

Anywhere non-central is going to be cheaper than central London. Don't be fooled by a map, london isn't actually that big, most places in central London can be reached easily on foot, you dont always have to take the tube.

I'd get a tube map, have a look at the outskirt towns (i.e Golders Green (North), Stratford (East), Ealing (West), Elephant and Castle (South) etc. All of these places are only 20mins on the tube from Central London.

Try this link for youth hostels in the UK - there should be quite a few in London and are very cheap.

Good Luck!

Both times that I've been in London I have stayed at the Generator Hostel in the Bloomsbury area, Russel Square Tube. I have found it to be pretty good price wise. It's close to the tube station, and the area is nice. Good luck!
