Has anyone ever done this? I'm aiming to bein India for next March/April and seeing Mount Everest is something I've always dreamed of doing.
Ideally I'd want to do the base camp trek - I know it's about a 5 day trek some way up the mountain... does anyone have any other info on it?

I'm 23, of reasonable fitness, but with no travel or trekking experience. The last thing I'd want is to attempt it then realise half way through I couldn't do it (oh... and I'm not keen on heights!!). It's not the kind of place where you can easily change your mind and just go back the same way is it?!!

Can anyone give me any info or advice?

Thanks

Hi there,
I've looked into doing Base Camp, but I dont think I'd be fit enough! The trips I have been looking at take around 3 weeks. There are organised tours with imaginative traveller and intrepid.

Everest Base Camp trek can not finished within 05 days. If your dream just see the Mount Everest, it can be seen from Sangboche (25-35 minutes far from Namche) and it takes around 02-03 days from Kathmandu. Yeah, your age and fitness of course support you for doing this trekking. If you have just 05 days for Nepal and really intersting to see Nepal mountains, Ghorepani / Poonhill / Ghandrung will be fit for you.
