Funny how people have different perceptions - James when you say Majorca to me its says package holiday half the population of UK, greasy fry ups and larger louts. Totally sterotypical l know and that this is only some of the resorts therefore not the entire island! I went once - a package holiday which was beach & booze no scenery to be seen - in my defence l was young l didnt know no better!!
But if someone offered me a holiday to Majorca now l would screw my nose up!!
Still l have been in Phuket & Bali - islands both totally beautiful and lots of wonderful scenery - which l went out and enjoyed yet l suppose main street Kuta or main street Patong could be filled with the booze hounds not interested in seeing the island wanting to get drunk and pull.
Mate you're going to find lager louts in any place that is even slightly "popular".
I'd put off going to Bali for years because of the lager lout factor, yet when I went there I was amazed at the place and realised that the lager lout portion is about 1% of the total.
Actually, Bali would have to be one of my all time favourite places.
I know - its the proxmity of the Balerics to home - it feels like the entire population of UK & Ireland head there from end of June onwards! The travel snob in me (now was great when l was 19!) wouldnt contemplate going somewhere as common as Majorca!!! It suits families though a short hop on a chartered flight and 2 weeks sun in an apartment complex! But for someone coming from the other side of the world l can see the draw! Suppose what l am saying l shouldnt knock anywhere as each place has its own special places!
I loved Bali, but Kuta beach which we visited one evening purely to get some sunset shots would be off putting if that was the only place you were to visit on the island. I loved Jimberan Bay great sea food, watch the fishermen go out for the night, watch the sun go down, choose your fish throw it on the bbq and chill out for the evening!
Guy and girl do I have to explain everything.
Rangiora is the best island ever. It´s in the tuamutu archipel in french polynesia.
I'd have to say Jamaica. Has anyone here visited?
Tasmania is the best island... the bass straight is like made for no one to cross:P and asia is an island?? i'm pretty sure "asia" is not fully surrounded by water.. maybe europe is in the way a bit there??
