I can definitely say that my number one travel tip for you photographers is to take a mass photo storage device... I love my Epson P2000. After shooting a gig of photos on my Canon Digital Rebel I could just download all of the photos onto the Epson and start with a clean memory card. It saves a ton of money in the long run to and the thing is actually great to show people pictures with as well... it has a nice screen. It's a little big though and if you do happen to lose it or get it stolen at the end of your trip your pretty much screwed.

I also love the Digital Rebel XT... highly recommended... I got a nice IS Canon lens and used it exclusively. I wished I had taken an extra zoom lens though...
