I will be taking two debit cards with me, each with equal amounts of spending money on so that if one is lost, I still have some money on the other one until I get my new card!
Is this a good way of doing it?
Are there any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance, Tom.
I would of thought this is an excellent idea as long as you have checked with your bank(s) that they do not charge for taking money out of your accounts.
GET YOURSELF A NATIONWIDE FLEX ACCOUNT...THEY DON'T CHARGE ANYTHING TO WITHDRAW MONEY ABROAD....AND THERE CARDS A VISA CARD.
how long does it take to get a new card sent out to you if I were to lose it in japan?
I am taking my Flex Account, and then I will be getting a traveller account from citibank, which I presume is free considering they are an Australian Company?!? Thanks.
Can someone elaborate on the concept of a "flex account" please. How does it work? How do you go about establishing the account? Can it be used anywhere at anytime? Thanks in advance.
Nationwide a UK bank have an account the FLEX ACCOUNT - a current account which with its debit card gives you the flexibility of withdrawing your cash anywhere around the world, commission free. So no need to carry cash, T/Chqs or use a credit card.
I notice from your username you are in the States lm not sure that you would be able to set up a flex account because you are not resident in the UK but lm also sure that some of the big US banks will provide something similar.
Hope this helps.
