Hey guys, ill be in the cities of Sydney, Surfers Paradise(Gold coast), Cairns, and the Whitsunday islands, each for a couple of days this August and wanted to know where I, a beginner surfer, should go surfing in and around those areas when I'm there. I'd probably still need lessons still(as i've surfed only twice before). I heared that i can get lessons from this guy Shane Horne(supposedly amazing surfer) by surfers paradise. Any advice anyone?

thanx,
Jimmy G

ok.... You will find good surf in Sydney at alot of beaches, the more obvious and well know ones being bondi, manly, cronulla and palm beach can be good at times.

The Gold Coast would be the best of the lot! "Surfers paradise" refers more to the culture of the place more than the actual surf but Snapper rocks, Burleigh heads and kirra beach are all world class surf beaches and are all in the Gold Coast.

As for the Whitsundays i have no idea about surf there
