Red Deer to Vancouver - 2006

Our Goal: Cycle from Red Deer, Alberta to Vancouver (Sechelt), British Columbia. With a total of approximately 1200 kilometres (24 miles) from door to door we managed to finish in 9 days of cycling (10 total).

We travelled from Red Deer to Calgary to Canmore to Banff to Lake Louise to Golden to Revelstoke (Via Rogers Pass) to Salmon Arm to Kamloops to the "Kokahala" summit to Hope to Mission to Sechelt.

Total Distance Travelled: 1240 km
Total Time to Finish: 10 Days
Total Flat Tyres: 5 Tubes/1 Tyre
Total Average Speed: 24 km/h
Top Speed: 72.1 km/h

Once on the coast I went kayaking, played ultimate frisbee, played ultimate football, and finished off with some kendo sword fighting.

Now I am back in Red Deer, in time for something else!

Regards,
Brendan

CONGRATULATIONS B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's good to see you have completed your trip and no mention of bear attacks!! Did you get to use your repellent?? Maybe on some nachos??? Well done!!!!!!!! ;)

ps: Know anything about Whistler and surrounding area??

Thanks, both of you! There were some pictures (we didn't have a camera, but friends we met along the way took some), once I get copies I will put some up.

Never did use the bear-mace, thankfully! I don't know anything about Whistler - but I know about Gibsons and Sechelt on the 'Sunshine Coast', which are near Whistler.

I think cycling East is the way to go - maybe dip down to Chicago then over to Montréal! ;)

Let us know if you really make it to Chicago!!!!!! We'll be sure to be in Dublin then!

Seriously, let us know your plans - may be able to arrange a mini-meet-up! ;)
