Hi there !
Me and my family are going to visit the east coast of USA in september - october this year. One of the highlights will be the fall foliage in new england. We intend to be in the first two weeks of september near the niagara falls and adirondaks, and drive all the way to boston .
What places are the most recomended by you, to see the beauty of the fall and of new england?
Many Thanks !!
Be sure to include Southern Vermont in your trip. That is really a great place to view the leaves changing colors.
I was born and still live in Boston and it is so beautiful in the fall. You will enjoy your trip.
To really see new england in the fall you should spend time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire - North Conway area. its so nice there i try to go every year.
From there Boston is only 2.5 hours.
You should stop in Concord and Lexington, Massachusetts (off of Interstate 128) as well. Its a large State park and historical battle grounds for the start of the American revolution. And beautiful old new england woods and small colonial town center with a historic cemetery where some famous writers - Hawthorne, Thoreau, Dickens - are buried. The walk thru the Battleground are pathways thru the forests so you wil get a close up view of our wonderful landscape here.
Ide also recoemmend Salem Mass (north of Boston), and Plymouth Mass (South of Boston), if u are interested in Colonial towns and old new england seaports.
