Hey guys/gals,

I am planning on going to SE Asia and after spending 6 weeks in Thailand, head overland through Cambodia and Vietnam (3 weeks), to China (3 weeks). My concern is where can I get a China visa? Bangkok? How long does it take? Cost? I am planning on Flying out of Beijing, and dont want to be stuck in Thailand or Vietnam trying to get a Visa. Are U.S. Citizens ever denied a tourist Visa? I was wanting to get it through the embassy here in the U.S. like i am with Cambodia and Vietnam but its only valid for 90 days after it's issued and I dont think that would work since its going to be 9 weeks before I even reach the Chinese border from the time I leave the States.

Tourist visas are pretty easy to get at any Chinese consulate (from what I hear). I got mine in Perth, friends got theirs in Hong Kong, no probs. Make sure if you are getting one in a foreign country that you find a decent translator.
