ok, so my roommate and i are setting off to europe for two weeks. We have three days in london, a week in prague, and then three days at the end. During these three days we were originally going to remain in prague, but have since decided we might as well see some place new. We are thinking either Berlin, or Vienna (we need travel to be relatively cheap). Any ideas between these two? or a third alternative? and then what about cheap travel, trains etc, between the cities? thanks...
I've been to both Vienna and Berlin. It really depends on what you want to see. Personally, I like Berlin more. You can still see the differences between East and West Berlin. Berlin has a lot of museums and historical monuments.
Going to Krakow might be a good idea. Out of Berlin, Krakow and Vienna, I like Krakow the most.
You can see the Auschwitz, Salt Mines and the old town there. It should take you 3 or more days to see all the main attractions in Krakow. Things are cheaper there and the Polish food is way better than what you get in Prague.
Please feel free to msg me if you need more info.
If you go to Vienna, go via Bratislava. Tickets from Prague to Bratislava should be cheap and it is easy to get from Bratislava to Vienna. There was a report about a new high speed boat connecting the two cities via the Danube on TV. One hour plus of exclusive Danube cruise for same cost as driving a car the between the two cities. Now I want to go there!

I took that high speed ferry and it was really cool. I think it was just over an hour to get from Bratislava to Vienna. Saw some neat villages and scenery.
