Can anyone please recommend things to see and do in Sydney? I have looked up several sites but would prefer to get any personal suggestions. Blue Mountains is one of the places on our list...but would appreciate any advice.
Cheers:)

Blue Mountains
The Rocks (in the city)
Wine Tour
Sydney Zoo
Beach - so many to choose from
Go see the Opera House
Climb the Bridge
Cruise the harbour

Now my list is not from personal experience (YET!!) as we dont get to Sydney until Dec 06 but from reading up these are some of the things to do! Im sure if you do a thread search you will come up with more Sydney listings as its a popular question asked!

Blue Mountains is a must.
Don't go up the tower because there are buildings in front of it and u can't see anything.
Manly and Bondi beach
Darling harbour at night is just beautiful.
Go on foot to the other side of the bridge 'cause there's a nice view of the opera house across the bay.
+ all the things that Purdy said

have fun!

Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour is good.

Watsons Bay is a nice bay, expensive Fish & Chips at the famous Doyles!

if you decide to go here you will need to take a short ferry ride to get to Manly. There are two beaches over there, one very small and quiet then the main surf one which is alot more populated and bigger

My personal favorite location in Sydney was the Chinese Garden of Friendship (at Darling Harbour). Although not quite up to par with as gorgeous an asian garden as the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco, it's still one of the nicer ones I've visited. So much beauty and diversity in such a small area!
Also, be sure to wander over Glebe Point Road to sniff up the bohemian atmosphere in Glebe. The saturday (?) market and/or being there for dinner is particularly recommended.

hey
my suggestions:
drive up the north head and check out the view.
get the manly ferry to circular quay and walk around the opera house.
have pancakes in the rocks at 4am.
walk over the bridge, either through bridge climb or just on the pedestrian strip.
get the jetcat up the parramatta river.
do the walk from bondi to tamarama.
do the walk from manly to shelly beach.
and have fun!
